Birdfoot Late Night: Octet

Birdfoot 2018

Recognized for its fresh approach and "youthful, rule-bending style," the Birdfoot Festival brings world-class artists and audiences together to make, and experience, dynamic chamber music. Taking inspiration from New Orleans' musical traditions, Birdfoot’s performances connect the timeless themes of classic masterpieces with contemporary sounds, creating unforgettable musical journeys. Birdfoot 2018 (May 23–June 3) celebrates New Orleans' tricentennial with a series of thirteen extraordinary concerts and events.

The Birdfoot Festival returns to the Three Keys with Octet, a late night set of fierce fiddling and soulful music by George Enescu and Osvaldo Golijov. Prepare to have your mind blown by Enescu’s epic Octet for four violins, two violas, and two cellos, a swirling and psychedelic journey that promises to transport and transfix.
