Little Cosmicana feat. Blind Texas Marlin, Micah McKee & Rose Cangelosi, plus Zac Maras & Cactus Thief

LC

Little Cosmicana is the kid sister of Simple Play's annual Cosmicana Festival, celebrating psych rock, indie, alt country and folk music from the Southeast, Gulf Coast and beyond.

Blind Texas Marlin, who's sound is best described as Mumford Sons meets the Pogues meets Neil Young, with a little Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash thrown in, mixed with folk, country, bluegrass and Indie movie soundtrack.

New Orleans native singer/songwriter Micah McKee has a lush, nostalgic sound that is sure to be a shining new face in the indie scene.

Rose Cangelosi mostly plays drums but can also serenade you with her original contemporary-indie songs on guitar or piano.

With traces of twangy country, blues and folk roots mixed in with his melodic harmonies and fingerstyle guitar playing Zac Maras is one to watch. His songs embody a balanced representation of his time spent in the tall pines of Washington Parish along with his love for New Orleans culture.

Cactus Thief is roots rock swamp gospel music out of New Orleans, Louisiana. They aim to create music inspired by the traditional dance hall bands of Louisiana, but craft songs that are relevant and socially conscious. They are not traditional and lean to the side of Rock n Roll with strong elements of traditional cajun, gospel and country.
