Louisiana Red Hot Records presents:

Burris plus Ruby & The Rogues with Nyce

burris red hot

Burris is comprised of founding member/songwriter/vocalist Christopher Burris Hochkeppel, along with a rotating cast of collaborators including drummer Tyler Hanson, Pianist and Trombonist Ben Herrington, Bassists Stephen Bohnstengel and Andrew Moss, Saxophonist Kevin McMann, Violinist Anton Zholondz, and Auxiliary Percussionist Matt Murray.

Each member of the band is a staple in the southern Louisiana music scene. Burris released three new singles in summer 2016 which received rave reviews. Collectively, members of Burris have shared the stage with George Porter Jr., Rebirth Brass Band, Snarky Puppy, The Revivalists, Louisiana’s Leroux, Grace Potter, GIVERS and many more.

They're joined tonight by Ruby & The Rogues and Nyce.

Ruby Rendrag infuses Ruby & The Rogues with lyrical immediacy and a percussive guitar style. Born to a Houma Indian, music-loving mother and a banjo-playing West Virginian father she has always lived a life immersed in music. Michael Ennis sits on a box called a "cajon" with shakers strapped to his shoes, surrounded by an assortment of other bells and whistles. As a former Texas bull rider and motor-cross competitor, he plays with the power of a rock drummer, creating the backbone of the trio with finesse, space and color. Suki Kuehn plays an old French cello found in a barn outside Paris. He fills-out the sound of this acoustic trio with tasteful effects and soaring melodies. On the Rogue side, he is a private pilot and ex-submariner.

Nyce was born from a busking duo on the streets of New Orleans. They have an eclectic and experimental sound. Consistently groovy.

Presented by Louisiana Red Hot Records.

Book a room with code VINYL for a copy of Uptown Rulers: The Meters live on The Queen Mary, a room deal and $50 to spend on food & drink.
