Get tipsy and tip the scales. Movement Monday is a collaboration between Ace Hotel New Orleans, DJ Chinua, Resistance Radio of WHIV, Indivisible New Orleans and various community partners to create an informal space for co-operation, discourse, and movement around a variety of issues in New Orleans and nationwide.

We define movement as purposeful intellectual, cultural, and ideological progress from uninformed to informed, from siloed to collaborative, and from passive to active. Held monthly, each Movement Monday will include a live audience taping of WHIV’s hour long Resistance Radio show (hosted by Kenny Francis and Dr. Mark Alain Dery) featuring an interview with a culturally or politically relevant guest and a post-taping happy hour (READ: with real happy hour prices!) for casual but purposeful discussion of the topics covered during the interview as well as an opportunity for action spearheaded by a local community partner.

This month we are joined by Porscha Williams and Nady Person of Conscious Roots, which creates and delivers world-class diversity, equity, and inclusiveness-centered professional development to organizations and leaders globally. They design fully customized experiences ranging from sessions to retreats that push our clients to examine how they are either working to dismantle or perpetuate systems of oppression. Porscha and Nady will be joining us for a conversation about their journey into entrepreneurship and their experiences going public with their deeply personal work.

Our community partner this month is 4.0 Schools who will be talking about their Tiny Fellowship that seeks to support aspiring founders from an idea with early traction to a proof point that is ready to grow.
